Our move back to the Swan With Two Nicks in Little Bollington for the February meeting was a success. It was generally agreed that this is a better venue.


Events for 2011

Hopefully, our old favourites will be augmented by new activities. We’ll make every effort to publicise these on our region web site as well as here in Sprint so please check frequently.

Classic Car Rally - Gawsworth Hall

This is an enjoyable day out which attracts a variety of interesting cars set in the delightful grounds of a unique country house. If you plan to bring your TVR, please let me know in good time so that I can ensure adequate display parking.

25th Annual Classic & Performance Car Spectacular & Autojumble - Tatton Park

This is another popular event in our calendar attracting TVR owners from far and wide as well as enthusiasts from more than 70 other car clubs. Entry for exhibitors is free. As last year, entry for display cars is by booking form only. You cannot expect to turn up on the day and gain entry to our display area. If you wish to book, send an email with Tatton in the subject line to ro@tvrcc-cheshire.co.uk requesting a form. PLEASE NOTE: Tickets will be posted out to you so please send us a stamped, addressed envelope along with your booking form.

Cholmondeley Pageant of Power

2011 will be the fourth CPOP, an event which gets bigger and better each year. This year it has been extended to three days. I don’t think that you will find anything quite like this in the north of England. For example, last year the astonishing Brutus from the Sinsheim Museum in Germany proved to be a massive draw with its fire-breathing 47 litre (that’s 47 not 4.7) BMW aero-engine taken from a WWI fighter aircraft.
There should be concessions for members displaying their TVR although details are not available at the time of writing.

Silverstone Classic

There’s far too much going on at this event for me to describe but I will say that there will be more than 20 Classic races incuding Group C endurance racing cars, World Sports Car Masters, three Formula 1 and Grand Prix grids of the fifties, sixties and seventies, The Royal Automobile Club Tourist Trophy for Historic Cars, Formula Junior, two grids of beautiful and charismatic 50′s sports cars, and two grids of Touring Cars. If that doesn’t whet your appetite, then I’m inclined to wonder why you are reading this magazine. Check the web site and then book! There are concessions for members displaying their TVRs.

Ormskirk MotorFest

This is a new event for 2011 organised by the Aintree Circuit Club. John Bailie their PR and Marketing Director, is heavily involved in organising this event. He is a long standing TVR enthusiast and played an active part in the TVR Car Club, organising their Extravaganza events and designing and producing TVR’s factory sales literature in the late 70s / early 80s. Have a look at the web site. I think it will be a ‘not to be missed’ event. I’ve been asked to organise a TVR timeline so if you have a nice example of your model and you are interested in being considered for this, please get in touch.
